A travelling boat-hotel. A wonderfull way to see Holland. You stay in diefferent places every night having your same room. You are busy every day cycling to your new destination. Observing every day life in villages, cities and on the farms. Your base-serves you good healthy meals. A good family holiday and so different to anything we have even done before! This is a lovely way to experience Holland. You really do get a full view of Holland. You cycle through quiet and beautiful famrlands and busy citystreets. In the evening you sail along the huge network rivers and canals all over Holland. Though the cabins are small, they are confortable and cowy and you never have a problem sleeping because your stomach is full with a delicious, well balanced meal every evening.

This is a life experience trip. Come rain of sun it is always beautiful. We could plan our own route with the maps provided of follow the instructions Bart (the captain) gave us. It is lovely when you cycle through the farm lands and see the cows, sheeps and goats chewing on the grass and going through the small villages and big cities seeing people using every little space and not wasting it. The food which Leontien cooks is brilliant and every night we get a different type of tasty food. In the mornings you have to make your own lunch for later on in the day. So I advice you to come have a wonderfull trip on the Noorderzon in the little country of Holland.

Harald and Monika Mertzen with friends from Hamburg, Germany.
Voller Erwartungen sind wir, das heißt Angelika, Alexandra, Brigitte, Margrit, Monika, Petra, Ralf, Uli und Harald, in den ICE in Hamburg eingestiegen. Unser Ziel war Amsterdam; der Ausgangspunkt unseres Abenteuers mit Schiff und Fahrrad.
In Amsterdam angekommen haben wir, Dank der guten Beschreibung, das Schiff sofort gefunden. Das erste, was uns sofort ins Auge fiel, waren "unsere Drahtesel" sprich Fahrräder. Ob sie ebenso gespannt auf uns wie auch wir auf sie waren?
Nach der herzlichen Begrüßung durch Leontien und Bart fühlten wir uns schon wie zu Hause. Vielleicht auch deshalb: wir 9 waren die einzigen Gäste an Bord. Es gab noch einen ganz wichtigen Grund, aber dazu komme ich später.
Der erste Eindruck war schon so gut; und es wird noch viel besser.
Die Koffer in die Kabine gebracht, schnell ausgepackt und wieder nach oben; denn es ging auch schon los... unsere Fahrt mit dem Schiff. Nach dem Anlegen wurde die erste Probefahrt mit den Fahrrädern gestartet. Und nach kleinen Änderungen und Einstellungen haben wir uns alle sofort mit unseren "Partnern auf zwei Rädern" sehr gut verstanden. Schon vorweg muss gesagt werden: es gab keine Panne, keinen Schaden, einfach gesagt alles super. Und kleine Einstellungen und Nöte hat Bart sofort erledigt.
Die nächsten 6 Tage haben wir mit unseren "Partnern auf zwei Rädern" sehr viele Kilometer abgestrampelt. Städte wie Utrecht, Gouda, Rotterdam, Delft, Den Haag, Scheveningen, Lei-den, Haarlem und Amsterdam haben wir durchfahren. Und dies sind nur einige Städte und Orte auf unseren Routen gewesen.
Dazu haben wir unterwegs auch sehr viel besichtigen können, zum Beispiel 19 Mühlen an einem Ort, in Delft die Porzellanmanufaktur, ein Museumsdorf und sehr viel schöne Landschaft. Ganz besonders war natürlich die Besichtigung der Tulpen im Keukenhof.
Ein ganz besonderer Grund des Wohlfühlens auf dem Schiff war der Umstand, dass wir so gut gegessen haben. Allein schon nach dem Frühstück fiel es uns schwer auf die Fahrräder zu steigen. Jedes Menü am Abend hatte ein Land als Hintergrund, und dem zu Folge wurde das Menü von Leontien gestaltet. Wir können nur sagen, so etwas gibt es nur hier auf dem Schiff. Wir denken sehr gerne daran zurück.
Zum Schluss muss gesagt werden: Jeder, der gerne Fahrrad fährt sollte diese Möglichkeit des Urlaubes nicht versäumen. Es ist ein Muss für jeden Radler.
Wir werden Euch weiter-empfehlen.

Liebe Leontien, lieber Bart,
heute am 18.06. 10 trafen wir uns bei Monika und Harald Mertzen in gemütlicher Runde. Um 17.00 Uhr starteten wir mit dem internationalen Abendbrot, dass wir in guter Erinnerung bei Euch auf dem Boot erlebt haben.
Ein bisschen polnisch, schwäbisches und Hausmannskost sowie holländische grote Stroopwafels füllten unseren Magen.
Danach schauten wir unsere Bilder der Radreise Mai 2010 durch Südholland über eine große Leinwand an. Wir haben sehr viele Fotos geschossen, 3 Stunden geschaut und uns erinnert an die gemein-samen Erlebnisse in der Truppe und auch mit Euch. Wir haben viel gelacht und zum guten Schluss noch Mama Mia`s gegessen.
Fazit ist, dass es toll mit Euch war, wir werden unseren Freunden von Euch erzählen und kommen garantiert wieder.
